Atal y tywod, ac anturiaethau eraill ym Mongolia

Yn anffodus dim ond yn Saesneg mae cofnod Kirsti am ledaeniad yr anialwch ym Mongolia ar gael.  Bydd crynodeb Cymraeg yn fuan. Yn y cyfamser, mae’r fersiwn Saesneg yma, a dyma ychydig o luniau:

Beautiful landscape - better with trees

Tirlun wedi ei harddu â choed, a blanwyd i atal lledaeniad yr anialwch

Being shown around the test plantation by the Korean project manager

Y rheolwr prosiect o Korea yn dangos y goedlan arbrofal

Trees growing strong - planted in furrows to protect from the wind slightly

Coed yn tyfu'n gryf - wedi eu plannu mewn rhych i'w amddiffyn rhag y gwynt

The massive green belt sounds like a wicked idea. Can’t believe they cracked the vodka open at 9.30am!

I won’t argue with what you have to say about the causes of desertification, but they don’t seem to apply very closely to Mongolia. It is not a hot country and is very far from the equator and yet has experienced some of the greatest change in temperature. I haven’t seen the statistics, but anecdotally, this year’s rainfall must far exceed the annual average. Population pressure is not an issue; Mongolia is the most sparsely populated nation on the planet. Mongolia is using more water than ever before, but per capita water consumption must still be among the lowest in the world.
